Magical MET Gala Event

With the spotlight gleaming down on everyone the MET Gala highlighted this years theme: Notes On Camp. Notes On Camp is a fashion statement derived from an essay and book written in 1964 by Susan Sontag, an American writer & filmmaker. The essay developed the word “camp” as to being  an aesthetic.

Notes on Camp is all about wearing the shocking and “over the top” costumes. Between Disney-Princesses, Showgirl Chic and even a Chandelier.

Gemma Chan, an actress best known for Crazy Rich Asians and Captain Marvel, attended her very first MET Gala this year. She was dressed in inspiration of a 1968 Elizabeth Taylor headdress in the film “BOOM!” She looked stunningly gorgeous, head to toe in glamour. Stylist, Owen Gould, featured the “Thriving Lotus” comb by Tan Mujiang to create this inspired look.

We are honored to have our elegant comb used at Gala. Our Thriving Lotus comb is a durable and handcrafted comb designed not only to be beautiful but also to have incredible hair health benefits.
